BKSAI Edge

Local intelligence.
Central governance.

Most of the businesses we serve have no server room, no IT staff, and — increasingly — a regulator who cares where their data goes. BKSAI Edge packages our platform as self-contained appliances that run on the customer’s premises, while BKSAI manages models, language packs, policies, and updates centrally.

The business value

Not simply faster inference

It is a controlled local operating layer that stays responsive, private, and integrated while still being centrally governed — and, in Thailand and Vietnam in 2026, the difference between a compliance position a small business can defend and one it cannot.

  • Low response latency

Speech recognition, translation, and voice response happen close to the user; local workflows and alerts respond immediately rather than waiting on cloud round trips.

  • Privacy

Audio, transcripts, documents, and personal data remain within the hospital, hotel, office, store, warehouse, or packhouse — under customer control.

  • Internet resilience

Selected voice, translation, and workflow functions continue when connectivity is intermittent; orders, tickets, inspections, and receiving keep running locally.

  • Lower bandwidth usage

Raw audio and continuous camera or sensor streams need not be transmitted centrally; only approved events, summaries, and evidence synchronize.

  • Local-system integration

The assistant and DigiWork act directly on the customer’s ERP, POS, PMS, EHR, CRM, WMS, or IoT environment; ForeSight uses current operational data.

  • Consistent multilingual service

Every branch uses the same approved language models, glossary, and translation policies, distributed centrally.

  • Workload consolidation

Mail store, file store, office engine, meeting relay, application host, and AI inference on one machine, with one identity and one backup — the only maintainable architecture where there is no IT staff.

  • Central governance, local execution

BKSAI centrally manages model versions, access, audit, and performance while preserving local responsiveness.

Why now

What changed in Thailand and Vietnam

An SMB does not buy an edge platform because edge AI is interesting. It buys because something changed that it now has to deal with. Between January and August 2026, several things did — and most of them push processing on-premises.

  • Driver 01

Regulation moved from theory to enforcement

Vietnam’s Personal Data Protection Law took effect on 1 January 2026, with cross-border transfer violations carrying fines of up to 5% of annual revenue and a 60-day impact-assessment filing; its standalone AI Law — the first in Southeast Asia — took effect on 1 March 2026, classifying healthcare, finance, and education systems as high-risk.

Thailand’s data protection regulator moved from years of zero enforcement to more than THB 21.5 million in fines in 2025, including against a private hospital, and in July 2026 opened consultation on a healthcare-specific guideline that names overseas cloud infrastructure as the cross-border compliance problem.

Nothing in either country makes cloud processing illegal for a general SMB — but on-premises processing reduces the number of transfer events, the number of processors in the liability chain, and the number of filings. That is a real, material friction-and-liability argument, and we state it as such.

  • Driver 02

Forced digitization events with hard deadlines

Vietnam abolished lump-sum taxation for roughly 5.2 million household businesses from 1 January 2026, requiring structured records where none existed; its POS e-invoicing mandate requires connected point-of-sale systems transmitting itemized invoices in real time — a hardware refresh cycle for millions of micro-businesses that also creates, for the first time, the structured transaction data ForeSight needs.

Some 440 of Vietnam’s 1,650 hospitals still lacked electronic medical records at the start of 2026. The EU Deforestation Regulation requires plot-level traceability from coffee exporters by 30 December 2026. China continues to tighten per-lot inspection and chain-of-custody documentation for Thai and Vietnamese durian.

  • Driver 03

The arithmetic favors capex in local currency

Both economies earn revenue and pay wages and power in baht and dong; a recurring subscription denominated in US dollars that grows with cameras, seats, minutes, or tokens is structurally hard to sell.

A 300 W appliance running continuously costs roughly THB 1,000 a month in electricity — about USD 31, a rounding error against a single minimum-wage salary. With RoomAI on the box, the appliance can be justified on the workspace license line alone, before a single AI use case is discussed.

  • Driver 04

The barrier is skills, not willingness

AI adoption among Vietnamese businesses grew 39% year on year, yet 55% cite a lack of digital skills as the main barrier and only 24% feel their workforce is prepared.

Anything that needs a specialist administrator is unsellable to the median SMB in either market — which is why BKSAI Edge ships as pre-configured, zero-touch appliances under a managed service in which BKSAI is effectively the customer’s IT department.

Offline resilience is decisive at packhouses, coffee collection points, farms, cold stores, and rural clinics. In an urban Thai store, with 95% 5G coverage and some of the fastest fixed broadband in the world, we lead instead with latency, bandwidth cost, and regulatory liability — because that is what is true there.

Six packages, one edge estate

Sized to the site

Each package runs the same software stack, sized to the site — from a fanless box behind the counter of a single clinic, store, or farm office, to a rack server for a hospital, hotel group, or distribution center, to ruggedized units for packhouses, cold stores, and factory floors that are not air-conditioned server rooms. Built on open, industry-standard edge platforms with no proprietary hardware lock-in and no per-seat AI subscription.

The conversation layer

The Voice-Enabled Multilingual Assistant

The voice capability is not another generic chatbot. It is a business-action assistant connected directly to Kadra DigiWork, Kadra ForeSight, and the customer’s operational systems: a conversation in Thai, Vietnamese, English, or Mandarin becomes a validated record, a scored risk, a recommended action, a human approval, and an executed transaction — with every step auditable.

Why local language work is the differentiator

Multilingual capability is asserted by every vendor in this market. What makes ours measurable is that the generic alternative demonstrably fails on Thai and Vietnamese script. Thai has no inter-word spacing, uses stacked diacritics, and has letter forms that closely resemble Latin characters; Vietnamese layers tone marks and vowel modifiers that change meaning outright. On ThaiOCRBench, published in November 2025 across thirteen document-understanding task categories, the best proprietary model tested scored 0.777 and the best open-source model 0.615 — with structural error rates of 47–55% on key-value extraction, code-switching out of Thai despite Thai input, and character-level substitutions.BKSAI’s accuracy comes from model selection, fine-tuning, and pipeline design for these languages, and we prove it the only way that matters: on the customer’s own paperwork, run locally, beside what a generic model produces.

Languages. Thai, Vietnamese, English, and Mandarin Chinese at launch, with additional packs — Japanese, Korean, Russian, and selected regional accents and dialects — introduced by vertical and customer need. Language performance is validated on real customer speech, terminology, and background-noise conditions, and Vietnamese experience, prompts, reports, and document extraction are locally tested rather than treated as a translation of a Thai or English solution.

Guardrails. Policy-based audit of every conversation, human escalation for low-confidence or high-risk interactions, and — in healthcare — no substitution for a qualified medical interpreter or clinician in diagnosis, informed consent, medication instructions, or emergencies.
